Con Man Abagnale To Speak At Gustavus
ST. PETER -- The con man portrayed by Leo and chased by Hanks can be caught next month at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Frank Abagnale Jr., whose story was told in the 2002 motion picture Catch Me If You Can, will speak at Gustavus Adolphus College on May 3rd at 7 p.m.
Between the ages of 16 and 21, he successfully posed as an airline pilot, attorney, doctor and college professor. All while cashing $2.5 million dollars worth of forged checks in 26 different countries.
After serving five years of a 12 year prison sentence, Abagnale was released in 1974 on the condition he would work with the US government helping catch scam artists like himself.
He now operates his own financial fraud consultancy company, Abagnale & Associates.
