Diocese of Winona Picking Up the Pieces



WINONA, Minn. (TEC News), December 18 – The Diocese of Winona has been sent into a whirlwind after allegations of sexual misconduct were brought to light between clergy members and children in the past.
Joel 1 : “The sacred trust placed in us by children, youth and families has been violated. We are truly sorry for the actions of these clergy in the past. We are taking extraordinary measures to ensure that this will never happen again.” : 13 sec.

Joel Hennessy, Director of Communications for the diocese, says they are doing everything to help those affected by this. A list of 13 clergy members names were released recently that were involved in sexual abuse crimes. The Diocese of Winona has fully adopted the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People and is committed to combating the problems of sexual abuse, protecting the young and vulnerable, caring for the victims of abuse, and restoring trust and hope.
